  1. That paint looks great. I almost thought you had found a nice chrome bumper in your previous post. Is it a color of a car or just a general gun metal paint? Check out my last post, you should give the throttle cable a try. Clean things up even more.

  2. It's been a while since I bought the paint, but I'm pretty sure it's 1977 BMW Anthracite. It was determined to be the color that most closely mimics that of the flares/bumpers/valance/etc of the 240ZG.

I've thought about doing the cable before, but figured I'd stick with the linkage for that vintage look. Now that I've attempted to tune and driven the car with the linkage I may revisit the idea of using a cable. I feel that force is not applied equally to all three carburetors via the main linkage rod. Ive noticed some flex in the rod already. The cable would be nice because I would theoretically be able to distribute the force more evenly, and diminish the effects of rod flex.

  3. Thanks for the heads up on the paint!

Although definitely classic looking, so many problems seem to be solved with the cable conversion. Also since I'm still waiting to shave and weld up the bay I can weld up a plate to cover up the old linkage hole and provide a good mounting surface.
