Bad Gas

Feeling a little stressed so I decided to get something done on the car. 

The gas tank was my victim.

As I started to drop the tank I got the feeling that it had been worked on before. 

The main clue was that there were newer style clamps on some of the fuel/vacuum hoses.

 Then I found this sticker. Looks pretty new...

Finally got the tank dropped.

I just ended up taking a boxcutter to some of the old hoses. 

They needed to be replaced anyways.

Then I found this:

Sure enough the tank was replaced in 1988.

I wonder why??? Rust maybe...

Rust forming on the tanks inlet flange...
